Mindfullness & Taichi

 Elisha

Along with working my way through the mindfullness aliveguide I have started regular sessions of Taichi and Qigong as part of my personal health and wellbeing change project.

I attend a 2 hour Taichi and Qigong workshop on a wednesday evening and practice at my home for 5 mornings a week for 20 to 30 minutes per session.

I initially thought that the mindfullness meditation would be good for my mental health and taichi would mainly aid my physical wellbeing.

However I am finding the practices very complementary, the breathing process is the same and the focus whilst doing the taichi seems to  slow the mind in a similar way to a walking meditation.

Have you or anyone on the program have experience with this?

I would be very interested to know if there are other internet sites that people  would recommend for Taichi as Aliveworld does not focus on it as yet.

Re: Mindfullness & Taichi

Hi Skip,

It is so wonderful to hear about your journey with all of these practices and the healing effects they are having with you. Tai Chi and Qigong are not my speciality, but Bob Stahl has a lot of experience with Qigong and has put out a DVD on it. Other people have asked to get a Guide and Community surrounding this on our site and I believe it will come.

For now, I'm of the mind that if something is working, stick with it. A quick search brought me this online program http://www.cloudwater.com/ , but I cannot recommend this as I have no experience with him.

I wish I could have handed you an Aliveguide on this...I think sometime I'll be able to.

I look forward to our continued interactions,

Elisha
